Merry Christmas, dear readers! Today, you are invited to have a seat at my table inspired by Christmas traditions. It warms my heart that you are able to join me for some Christmas cheer. I know it has been quite a while since I posted, and I am excited to share my Christmas table and dining room decorated for this special holiday season. This is always my most favorite time of the year!

You are in for an extra special treat as my sweet friend, Rita, at Panoply is hosting several table stylists sharing their beautiful Christmas tables. We appreciate all that she does to bring us together, and the links to the festive tables can be found at the end of this post.

Long time readers may notice that a few changes have been made to the dining room. Last summer, we purchased a new dining table. I adore the English Chippendale style of furniture and have longed to find a dining table styled in this tradition. On a weekend trip to Oklahoma City, Mr. Bleu and I visited one of our favorite consignment shops, and there she was in mint condition! As you may have already guessed, the domino effect started. With the new table, I needed new curtains and a coordinating fabric for the chair seats followed by a new rug to tie everything together. I found my fabrics and rug at Nell Hills. They made the curtains for me as well.

My Christmas table is set in a traditional holiday style with red and green being the primary color palette.

The placemats are a Christmas toile pattern by Maison d’Hermine. For the plate stack, I chose gold beaded chargers, Mikasa English Countryside plates, and Christmas tree salad plates by the Pioneer Woman. Each stack is topped with a scalloped white napkin tied with Christmas greenery and a red velvet bow.

“God never gives someone a gift they are not capable of receiving. If He gives us the gift of Christmas, it is because we all have the ability to understand and receive it.”-Pope Francis

Mikasa Golden Tiara crystal goblets and Oneida Michelangelo flatware complete each setting. Both were from my bridal registry some thirty-one years ago. The Mikasa crystal pattern has since been retired.

“It’s not how much we give but how much we put into giving.”-Mother Teresa

“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.”-Ruth Carter Stapleton

Some Christmas spirit was added to the little sideboard. Red berries, greenery, and festive decorations were added to the cabinet along with a lush wreath tied with a red bow.

A Crown Linen Design table runner provides a foundation for a simple centerpiece of Christmas greenery, red berries, and green flameless candles.

Flameless candles are one of my favorite winter decor items. I love the warm glow they provide on dreary winter days.

“The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of the holidays.”-W.C. Jones

Flanking the ends of the table are red mercury glass jars that I have had for several years.

My dear friends, I am so happy and grateful that you joined me today. It was such an honor to host you around my table set in the tradition of Christmas. A table that hopefully reflects love, hope, faith, and joy.

I will be back soon to share more of my Christmas decorations.

Good morning Shannon, I’m so glad to have a virtual seat at your table and have missed hopping with you! What a beautiful new table, drapes and rug in your dining room! I love the color palette of your table that your Christmas tree salad plates provide. The pastel pinks and greens are perfect the seafoam green color of your dining room walls. Love the other Christmas touches on your sideboard too. Isn’t amazing how realistic flameless candles look these days and no risk of fire and /or dripping wax?! So happy to hop with you and join you at the table again…looking forward to seeing more Christmas décor. Merry Tuesday, stay warm!🎄❤️
What a lovely room. The traditional colors on your table are a favorite for me and it is all so festive! I also love the new flameless/battery candles, especially the ones with timers! Have a wonderful holiday month
Shannon, your dining room makeover is so lovely.how special to find the dining table you love and gently used. The new drapes, chair covers and rug look so pretty. I adore your pretty plate stack, with the evergreens and sweet bow, the red mercury glass jars make quite the statement. Love seeing the traditional colors. Your sideboard look gorgeous the way you decorated with green, love the flameless candles. Always a pleasure joining you at the table. Wishing you a blessed Christmas.
Such a beautiful traditional Christmas setting. Your room looks lovely and the new table really shines. Your rosy reds and greens blend perfectly with the rest of your room. Decorating the hutch in Christmas splendor is a wonderful way to tie everything together. I particularly like your sway soup tureen. Swans fit in perfectly at the holidays. The simple evergreen accents work perfectly with your traditional style. The placemats are charming and the cranberry jars add a touch of years past to your table. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season.

Your entire room looks so beautiful and elegant. The table is gorgeous, but I am really enjoying looking at the hutch and all of the Christmas goodies that you have on it, as well as that lovely mirror with the wreath (AutoCorrect changed that to “Aretha.”LOL!) attached. That is such a good idea. I am getting so many great ideas today. Beautifully done, Shannon.
Shannon, I love everything about your charming table from the pretty tree plates and place mats to the beautiful velvet ribbon and greenery tied napkins! Wishing you a joyful Christmas season, Cecilia – My Thrift Store Addiction
Hello Shannon! Welcome back! I have missed you!
Your dining room is exquisite. The new Chippendale table is a gorgeous focal point. I am in love.
The newly painted walls and curtains are so pretty.
I also have to say, your plate stack is gorgeous. Those chargers are such a pretty foundation for your lovely dishes. Your centerpiece is all so wonderful with your flameless candles. I pretty much use flameless now.
Your new dining room shines in Christmas Splendor!
Merry December! And it is so good to see you back. Hugs!
Shannon my friend…so happy to see your beautiful post today. I have missed you and so glad to see that all is well. Your dining room makeover is amazing. I loved it before but this new look is refreshing. I know the time and stress of doing a make-over can make one question choices but you have shown that the traditional red and green of Christmas nestles into your room nicely. Love your centerpiece and who doesn't love flameless candles? I know I have cleaned up my share of wax on tables and linens…I changed that years ago. Love your plate stack and red mercury glass jars. Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful family. Welcome back. 🎄🎄🎄🥁🥁🍽️🎄🎄❤️
Shannon, I have missed your blog posts! It is so good to have you back with us. I love your gorgeous dining table and chairs, the rug, and the window treatments. It is all stunning! Your traditional table is gorgeous with red and green! The Christmas toile placemats and salad plates with the lovely napkins tied with Christmas greenery and a red velvet bow add the perfect traditional Christmas charm. The emerald green candles add a cozy ambiance!
This is all so lovely! Your new table and the beautiful changes you have made are so soothing. I'm so enjoying your traditional red and green welcoming in the most wonderful time of the year! Thank you Shannon!
Your dining room is so pretty, and I love the traditional vibes! The Pioneer Woman plates are so cute! I didn't even know she made Christmas plates! Your hutch is decorated so prettily: I love how the greenery pops against the black. I also love your bold red elements on the center of your table. Everything is so pretty! 😀 Merry Christmas!
Shannon, the new to you English Chippendale table is gorgeous. Wow, what a wonderful find! Nell Hills has always inspired me. I have all of Carol's books. I've visited Kansas City twice, and the second time I made certain I got to shop at Nell Hills. Actually we stopped on the way to airport. I was not disappointed!
The red berries and greenery set the stage for holiday celebrations. Crown Linens and beautiful plate stacks are perfect. The gold beaded chargers are so regal. Love the gorgeous garland on the hutch and the greens on chandy. I do believe you are ready for holiday dining. Merry, Merry, dear friend. This was a serious treat!
Shannon, what a beautiful remake of your dining room. I love your new selection of a dining room set. What always strikes me is your lovely cupboard. It is decorated to lovely for Christmas. It is like looking into a "Looking Glass" and viewing historical Christmas. You are so right when you say, "traditional" It has such Old World charm. An attraction of Christmas past unlike anything else. I love everything about it, but I can say I am attracted to the charming red ginger jars on the table. Such a lovely choice. The green candles are perfect for the table. It is hard to find battery operated flickering candles in green. Shannon, have a wonderful family gathering and enjoy your new beautiful surroundings which you have dressed up so exquisitely for Christmas.
Shannon, your new dining room is lovely and the colors are so soft and pretty. You must have been thrilled to find a table and chairs in exactly the style you were looking for! Your table is lovely as well in traditional red and green and looks right at home in the dining room. The greenery paired with the red ribbon, berries, and red jars makes a beautiful centerpiece. The plate stack is perfect with the elegant placemats and chargers with the beautiful Pioneer Woman salad plates. You are so ready for Christmas entertaining. Merry December and happy holidays!
Shannon, I'm so glad you joined us with this beautiful holiday blog hop. First, I LOVE your changes to your dining room! The darker wood of your newest table and chairs, along with the fabrics and rug chosen make for a beautiful look with your hutch. Your tablescape is a beautifully traditional mix of reds and greens. The Mikasa china and crystal are timeless, and the Pioneer Woman's salad plates are the perfect touch, such a sweet design. I am also a big fan of flameless candles, but I honestly thought yours were real. They are made so realistically now, it makes perfectly good sense to use them. The red glass ginger jars are the perfect accents on the table.
Thank you for taking the time to participate in this blog hop. Merry December!
Shannon, it’s so nice to see your beautiful dining room decorated for Christmas! Congrats on finding your lovely new table! The new rug and fabrics are gorgeous too, and I’ve always loved the soft color of your walls! It’s all perfect with your beautiful Christmas table! Thanks for sharing, and Merry Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Shannon, I love the new look for your dining room. It's the perfect setting for your Christmas table, which I would describe as light and airy. I know that's not a phrase that usually comes to mind during this season, but your choice of greenery, berries and ribbons allows the light to flow through, then around the beautiful stemware and place settings. The pretty toile placemats, white dinner plates and clear chargers are a lovely traditional touch. Happy Holidays!
There you are! Yay! I was so delighted to see your email in my mail box! Gosh, where do I start? Your new dining table is stunning, and I love how the domino effect (curtains, chair covers, rug) kicked in! It all looks absolutely beautiful. Only you could combine Mikasa with Pioneer Woman and make it look effortless and elegant! But I what I especially love is how you lean into greenery and berries. That natural touch makes your Christmas dining room look inviting and welcoming. I hope you celebrate many joyful Christmases with your family at this table, and thank you for sharing incredible talent and creativity with us!
So beautiful & festive–love how you decorate! Wishing you & yours a very Merry Christmas & all good things in the New Year!
Wow Shannon! What a gorgeous dining table! The updates to your dining room are gorgeous and feel so cozy. You have styled your table so perfectly to match the cozy feel of the room. Your place settings are gorgeous, and I love how you have styled the napkins. I have similar ones with red trim on the scallops, so I will be borrowing this idea! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
